This weekend in Anchorage has no shortage of entertainment, from live music and cabaret to the Great Alaska Quilt Show and a pirate-themed pub crawl.

Case came to prominence as a member of Canadian alt-rockers The New Pornographers, but she has established herself as a sensational solo artist over the past two decades. Tickets start at $48.50.: 8 p.m. Friday/Saturday, Broken Blender, 535 W. Third Ave.

Billed as a “steampunk cruise to remember” this original play was written by Anchorage’s Rachel Ayers. Ticket prices are $20/$30.Established in 1996, this run is a fundraiser for men’s health education and awareness, promote early detection and provide financial aid to men fighting prostate and testicular cancer. There are a two-mile walk and a five-mile run as options with a virtual run available until Sept. 25.: 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday/Sunday, First United Methodist Church, 725 W. Ninth Ave.

The show returns after a two-year hiatus with dozens of beautiful quilts. There is a small quilt silent auction as well as a quilt raffle. Admission and parking is free.Pirate Pub CrawlThe 13th annual crawl sends pirates all over the Anchorage downtown with funds raised going to the Blood Bank of Alaska. Stops include 49th State Brewing, the Broken Blender and Mad Myrna’s among others.
