If you’re interested in ice fishing, this might be your chance to learn the ropes at the Jewel Lake Ice Fishing Jamboree on Saturday. If music is more your thing, there are plenty of options this weekend in Anchorage.

This all-ages event is the kickoff of the 2023 Bait Shack Community Event series. Anglers are welcome to bring their own gear but a limited number of rods and bait will be available for use for free. Residents 18 and over, and non-resident anglers ages 16 and over are required to have a current 2023 license.This special themed day at the Alaska Zoo includes zoo mascots, petting zoo, fun activities in the Discovery Center, animal enrichment. It is free and open to the public.

The eatery in the heart of Spenard celebrates its 14th birthday with help from Past Our Prime providing music.
