This Toyota GT 86 Has A Ferrari/Maserati V8 And A Six-Speed Manual | Carscoops carscoops
is Ferrari and Maserati’s F136. This engine was first introduced in 2001 and has been used in a plethora of Maserati and Ferrari models over the years, starting with the 385 hp Maserati Coupe and Spyder through to the Ferrari 458 Speciale. While it may look like this F136 has been lifted from a Ferrari California, it is actually a Maserati version of the engine but has been equipped with the manifold of a California. It is unclear just how much power it is pumping out.
It’s safe to assume that this engine was sourced from a wrecked Maserati. Rather than coupling it with the car’s original transmission, Sideways Fab & Customs has mated it with a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission that drives the rear wheels.86 sounds quite different than you may expect.
