One dog was apparently adopted within a day of the program's launch.
Mary Alloy, who runs the pizza joint with her children, told me that the idea didn’t specifically come from Fargo Brewing—despite making for a great coincidence. Instead, it stems from her volunteer work with the Niagara Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals . She says that Kimberly LaRussa, an SPCA event coordinator, had seen a pizza shop in Pennsylvania was putting flyers for lost dogs on pizza boxes and figured the idea could work for dogs in need of adoption as well.
Alloy added that the pizzeria went through nearly a week’s worth of boxes on the first day of the promotion, and by the next day, a 6-month-old puppy named Larry had reportedly already been adopted. Meanwhile, to sweeten the deal, Just Pizza & Wing Co. is also offering up a $50 gift certificate to anyone who adopts a dog through the program.Advertisement
