This is Alpine's 2024 Le Mans racer.
, but the Renault-affiliated performance brand's biggest moment to date came at Le Mans all the way back in 1978. As they had previously announced, the one-time overall winners at Le Mans are back to add to that honor in 2024. Now, we have our first look at the car the program will be racing.This is the Alpine A424_B, a concept meant to preview the Renault performance brand's upcoming World Endurance Championship and Le Mans racer.
As the final Alpine will be an LMDh-spec prototype, the car will use the same spec motor, battery, and transmission seen in the Porsche 963 and Cadillac V-Series.R racers currently at Le Mans. The team has chosen Oreca as its chassis partner, meaning that the final draft of the A424_B will also share a next-generation LMP2 tub with the Acura ARX-06 in a deal similar to the arrangement that has allowed Dallara to provide a chassis to both BMW and Cadillac.
