.PNLMusic stole the show at OffWht.
I’m enamored with the French rap group PNL, the French-Algerian brothers, Ademo and N.O.S., née Tarik and Nabil Andrieu, respectively, and their drawn-out lyrics, soaked with autotune but rhythmically punctuated like a BB gun. This past week, they made an appearance at the Off-White Spring 2020 menswear show, dressed in their-style tracksuits in red and black , but most notably with their hair now cut to shoulder-length.
I can’t really understand what the group is singing about, as I don’t speak French. But I know PNL’s lyrics are heavy and cover their communities in the, the diverse, often working-class housing developments in the suburbs of Paris. As my friend describes it: “It’s a different, more realistic view of France, not just Jane Birkin chomping down on a baguette.”
