The problem with ‘Call of Duty’ Modern Warfare’s 2nd season
and I’m mostly thrilled with Season 2 which launched earlier this month. The new season is free for all players on all platforms and includes new maps and weapons. Sure, you have to pay for the Battle Pass but it’s completely optional, which is great.
The new Rust map is aces. I love it, and I love that there’s a Rust-only playlist. It means you can play the new map to your heart’s content,But I am getting a little frustrated about one thing. When I’m not playing Rust I’m in Quickplay much of the time. It’s the only place where you can find one of the other new Season 2 maps: Atlas Superstore. It looks like a cool map, too, taking place in a big superstore warehouse. But I wouldn’t know.
That’s one thing the previous system had going for it, I suppose. Each new map pack would get its own playlist. The problem, of course, was that non-paying players were left in the cold. This is still better, but it is a little disappointing that even in the latest playlist update there’s no Atlas Superstore to be seen.
Of course, now that I’ve written this post it’ll probably be the net map I play because that’s how these things work. Luck or fate or whatever you want to call it. Yhprum's law.
