The congressional committee reviewing the January 6 attacks has put forth incriminating evidence that the president and his conspirators meant to hold onto power even of it meant shredding the Constitution to do it.
“Just say it’s corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican Congressmen.”
With those words, former President Donald Trump tried to weaponize the entire Department of Justice and to overturn the votes of 150 million Americans. For the first time in our history, we had a President who was intent on disrupting the peaceful transition of power. He intended to hold on to power after a decisive loss even if it meant lying and leading an attack on the U.S. Capitol to stop the certification of the election.
