A five-byline report from the Times is shedding new light on the forced ousting of Chris Cuomo and former CNN president Jeff Zucker.
reported, was a letter that CNN received from a lawyer on behalf of a “Jane Doe” who had worked with Chris Cuomo at ABC News a decade earlier saying he had assaulted her. The series of scandals, Zucker told Cuomo when he fired him, according to the, had become “too much for us.
The lawyer for Jane Doe wrote in her letter to CNN that her client “suspected he was concerned about her coming forward publicly with her allegations and wanted to use the proposed segment as an opportunity to ‘test the waters’ and discourage her from going on the record about his sexual misconduct.” Kilar told staffers Tuesday that the company’s investigation into the Cuomo matter wrapped up over the weekend.
