'These brave girls, they came out and were trying to shield me.' A video of several women leaping to the defense of a man being beaten by police went viral. One of the women, Aysha Renna, told CNN she doesn't fear police violence.

New Delhi Aysha Renna didn't think she would ever find herself confronting baton-wielding police officers to protect a fellow Muslim student from a beating.

But the 22-year-old, along with several other women, is now being praised for her bravery after a video showing them stopping Indian police from attacking her friend went viral on social media."At that moment, I wanted to save my brother, so in order to do that I wanted to make these people away," she told CNN on Tuesday.
