And although it sounds like your standard scrub, Acure's version — made without parabens, sulfates, and mineral oil — is actually quite gentle and less offending than its exfoliating counterparts on the market. That's because, even with a cocktail of skin-sloughing ingredients, it's also made with aloe to soothe skin simultaneously. That's probably why I enjoyed using it so much.
At first glance, the jet black, gritty substance is, to be honest, kind of frightening. Aesthetically, it's not something I'm used to smearing on my face, but because it smells fresh and clean, I tend to forget all about the color and texture once I start using it. But the results are worth the mess. After every use, which tends to be once a week, my skin looks and feels visibly smoother and brighter — never irritated. So, what I'm saying is, I guess I like facial scrubs now.
