During one eye-opening stretch, Vassell attacked his way into two free throws, hit a tough pull-up jumper in the paint, drove for another two free throws, turned a steal into a coast-to-coast layup, and found Jakob Poeltl for a bucket of his own.With Dejounte Murray now in Atlanta, conventional wisdom had it that Primo might be poised to slide from shooting guard — where he started at the end of last season — to the starting point guard role.The role might suit him, for now.
Primo never scored more than 15 points last season, and he did most of his work as a catch-and-shooter.Not long after entering the game in the first quarter, Primo rattled off eight quick points. He beat his defender with a cross-over dribble to get to the paint on three straight possessions.
