I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Well, it’s been a long while since I’ve done one of these lists, as Bungie is forever behind in adding Destiny 2 catalysts to its exotic weapon list, even as they continue to do so with some each new season, and are shipping many new weapons with them right at the start, like every season pass entry.
So, here’s the list in some rough order of what needs catalysts the most, relative to popularity and usefulness. Some of these areA few highlights here. I have Wish-Ender at #1 but I do doubt Bungie wants to make that stronger than it already is. Giving it native anti-barrier was almost a catalyst by itself, after all. Even with upcoming buffs I don’t think the class glaives are good enough, and need catalyst help.
Next season we know that we are getting Truth buffs, but no catalyst. I did take Two-Tailed Fox off the list after its third rocket addition. Salvation’s Grip has gotten at least some buffs but yeah, that thing remains deeply bad. I don’t think you can ever fix it. I usually write this list and miss one or two, so let me know what I skipped. If I got them all I’d be amazed.
