'An exciting and significant step in the delivery of the Greengate masterplan'
A glass-clad 50-storey block is the latest addition to Greater Manchester's skyline. The tower, from developers Renaker, is the first of three to be completed at Colliers Yard in Greengate, which was the former medieval heart of Salford.
The second tower will be between 39 and 41 storeys and would hold 428 to 518 apartments. The third is expected to be 40 to 42 high storeys and deliver 420 to 444 apartments. Properties in the second two blocks will retail for between £300,000 and £500,000. Collier Street, on the edge of the site, includes the Grade II listed baths built in 1855, which were constructed in an Italianate style.
The building was listed a decade ago by the Victorian Society as one of the most at risk buildings from the era in England. Developers Renaker have since promised that 'this architectural gem will create an inspiring backdrop to a new public square, Colliers Square'.

There's a cafe with nothing around it making waves in SalfordWalk along to the Mariner's Canal around the back of the Lowry Outlet Mall, cutting through onto Eerie Basin - formerly known as Dock 9 - and you'll see very little except for the City Lofts and The NV apartment. However, venture to the end of the dock and you'll find the Anchorage Buildings.
