ven as the stock market faltered amid coronavirus concerns, the United States still leads the world in the number of billionaires who call the country their home. The U.S. has 614 citizens on Forbes' new list of, but 623 members of the three-comma club, including two dozen non-U.S. citizens, have chosen to plant their roots in one of the 50 states.
Though the ultra-rich flock to certain states—more than a quarter of America’s billionaire residents are in California, while nearly a fifth are in New York—those with ten-figure fortunes live anywhere from Rhode Island and Maine to Nevada and Arizona. In all, 43 states—plus Washington D.C., or more specifically,Seven states don’t have any billionaires: Alabama, Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota and Vermont.
