The former US president has been ordered to pay $5m in damages after the Manhattan federal court jury’s unanimous verdict in the civil trial.
She added: “This victory is not just for me but for every woman who has suffered because she was not believed.”In March, Mr Trump became the first US president, past or present, to be indicted, a formal notice given to a person suspected of committing a crime., which prosecutors claim were made to the adult film star Stormy Daniels to prevent her revealing details of a previous encounter with Mr Trump.
Mr Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, said he was directed by Mr Trump to arrange payments totalling $280,000 to Ms Daniels and the Playboy model Karen McDougal in exchange for their silence.
