And you can fold it completely open, making it possible to double your cooking space by adding a second grate.
All that good design comes at a price, though. The Nomad costs $499, and that second grate I mentioned costs another $128. That puts it in the same ballpark as a good smoker or gas grill and more than twice the cost of a workhorse Weber Kettle charcoal grill. But this is not some pricey retread of an already-existing appliance that jacked up its price thanks to unnecessary Bluetooth connectivity or a built-in QR scanner .
Finally, the Nomad is that rarest of rare in the grill world: a piece that is as easy to own if you live in a one bedroom, third floor walk-up as it is if you live on three acres in the woods. It’s not tiny, but it fits easily into a closet or under a bed—heck, it’s the right size that you could cover it with a tablecloth and keep it as an end table when you aren’t bringing it to the park to cook. If you thought there was no room in your life for a grill, the Nomad will probably prove you wrong.
