Among the thousands of strikes that took place was Climate Strike NYC. Starting at Foley Square near City Hall, strikers marched through lower Manhattan past Wall Street on their way to a rally in Battery Park.
Once there, participants took in several musical performances along with a powerful speech from"Why should we study for a future that is being taken away from us, that is being stolen for profit?" Greta asked the crowd during her speech. "We deserve a safe future. And we demand a safe future. Is that really too much to ask?"
