Riot Forge has announced another new spin-off to the wildly successful League of Legends in the form of action RPG The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story.
As for formats, so far Riot has said the game will launch on PC and console, but stopped short of saying exactly which consoles that would be.
Here’s the official blurb from Riot Forge: “Developed by Digital Sun, creators of Moonlighter, The Mageseeker is a 2D pixel, gritty action RPG set in Demacia, a mighty kingdom in the world of Runeterra that seeks to curtail what it deems as forbidden magic while wielding magic themselves to maintain order.
Play as Sylas, an escaped mage whose quest for vengeance will shatter Demacia’s deceptive peace – a peace built with the blood and sweat of mages. The Mageseeker provides an action-packed fantasy gameplay experience for those looking to experience a story of power, identity, and justice.” The game is the latest in a series of League of Legends spinoffs in development at a couple of indie studios, with Riot Forge acting as a publisher and shepherd for its hugely successful series.
In fact, the announcement also came with an update on those other projects – with release windows for both games. Convergence: A League of Legends Story is set for Summer 2023.
