The Judds' 'Final Tour' is coming to Alabama.
As of now, it’s the only Alabama date on the tour, which launches Sept. 30 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and concludes Oct. 28 at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Grammy-nominated country singer Martina McBride, known for hits like “Wild Angles,” “Wrong Again” and “A Broken Wing,” will open the shows as the tour’s special guest.
“What I’m looking forward to most is celebrating Judd music with the fans,” Wynonna says in a press release. “Mom and I have had quite the journey over the last 38 years, and the fans have been with us through it all. This tour is a celebration for them.” At the height of their career, after winning multiple Grammy Awards and scoring 20 top 10 country hits , The Judds ended. In the early ’90s, Naomi’s hepatitis C diagnosis led her to step away, following a farewell tour.
Wynonna went on to solo stardom, with hits like “She Is His Only Need” and “No One Else on Earth.” A Kentucky native, Naomi acted, wrote books, appeared on reality TV and did philanthropy. Meanwhile, Naomi’s other daughter Ashley Judd became an accomplished actor, starring in films such as “A Time To Kill” and “Heat.” The Judds reunited onstage occasionally, including the 2008 Stagecoach Festival, a successful 2011 tour and 2017 Kenny Rogers tribute concert.
