Many people look forward to a Wednesday because of the club
Hot meals, games and making friends for life are just a selection of what's on offer at a Nottinghamshire group. The Wainman Trust Together Club, based at the Rivergreen Methodist Hub in Clifton, has been supporting pensioners in the area for five years.
Angela Allen, 73, from Bramcote, has been attending the Together Club for about two years. She said: “It’s brilliant here, the best thing I’ve come to. I love meeting people and coming here for a laugh, I live on my own and it gets me out.”Wainman Trust provides to nearly 100 residents through their Together Clubs with a club not only in Clifton but Arnold, too. Currently, there is an appeal to ensure the clubs can keep on going.
Olwen said: “They all come in have a drink, a catch, and catch up til 11am, Hannah then goes on to do all the announcements, and activities and they get games and always a hot home-cooked meal made from scratch.”
