New images for The Flash season 9 see Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen glow as a happily married couple in the final season. Grant Gustin's Scarlet Speedster is reaching the end of his race, with The Flash season 9 officially set to wrap up the popular Arrowverse drama. The DC TV series will be returning for a 13-episode season, which will continue to make The Flash hold the title as the Arrowverse's longest-running TV show.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY After recently releasing the first The Flash season 9 trailer, TVLine has another look at the swan-song season. Three new images were released of the Arrowverse show's upcoming season, highlighting The Flash's central couple, Iris and Barry. Following an intense journey in The Flash season 8, the new season 9 photos see Gustin and Candice Patton's leading characters glow more than ever, giving a taste of the married couple's final season.
Despite The CW already sharing a few season 9 teasers, there is still some uncertainty about various storylines that need to be addressed and dealt with before The Flash ends in 2023. One of the last villain arcs that the DC TV series will need to conclude is whoever is becoming the new avatar of the Negative Speed Force. There is also the mysterious Caitlin Snow arc, as her state is currently unknown after the events of The Flash season 8.
Ideally, The Flash's final season will also see some kind of reunion with all the speedsters that have entered the Arrowverse over the last nine years. From Kid Flash, and Jay Garrick, to XS and Impulse, The CW series is hopefully staging a massive Flash Family reunion, as this will be the last time all of those characters can be together in this particular DC project.
