The company behind a proposed landmark hotel backed by Cristiano Ronaldo has moved to keep the plans alive.
If the 11-storey hotel is ever completed it would include 151 bedrooms and operate under the CR7 brand.Manchester City Council first approved the proposals in 2020. If the discharge of the conditions are not approved by the council then the consent would lapse when it hits the three-year deadline in December.In a letter to the council on behalf of the Southern Green Properties, Deloitte said: "Since planning permission and listed building consent were granted in 2020; however, a number of well documented and unforeseen macroeconomic challenges have resulted in some delays in bringing forward this project.
"As such, Southern Green Properties Ltd continues to be fully committed to delivering the permitted scheme which will provide a high quality development and the restoration and long term sustainable reuse of a grade II-listed heritage asset.
