BREAKING The EU agrees to delay Brexit until May 22 if MPs back Theresa May's deal
Prime Minister Theresa May greets European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker at the Europa Building in Brussels ahead of the European Leaders' summit at which Mrs May will be asking for an extension to Brexit.The EU offers to delay Brexit until May 22 if the UK parliament backs the Brexit deal next week.A majority of British MPs have yet to signal their support for the deal.
The EU Council said that it would only grant a short extension if MPs approve May's deal with the EU next week. This currently looks unlikely, with opponents of the Withdrawal Agreement reluctant to budge. One EU source told Business Insider:"[There is] no expectation here that the deal will pass after May's speech last night."
