A reader explains why he prefers Japanese games to Western made titles and why the Edge Top 100 list of the last 30 years has so many.
Does Japan make the best games? I was very interested to see Edge’s Top 100 list of the best games of the last 30 years this week. The magazine itself is 30 years old this month and so they got a bunch of their writers and developers to put together a list of games. No one’s ever going to agree with something like that, but I thought it was pretty good, even if some of the games seemed to be there more for their influence than how good they are to play today.

Or Shadow Of The Colossus, which is technically a prequel to Ico but you’d have no idea until the final cut scene.
