Prince William and Kate Middleton step out to hear more about the Ukraine relief effort
stepped out for a joint appearance on Thursday to hear more about the relief effort for Ukraine.
Wearing matching blue and yellow pins with a heart motif in honour of the Ukrainian flag, the royal couple visited the Disasters Emergency Committee in London to learn about its ongoing charity appeal and work to help the people of Ukraine during the current conflict.During the visit, Will and Kate met with members of the DEC and aid workers who have been working both in Ukraine and neighbouring countries, helping those displaced by the crisis.
They also spoke to DEC staff on the ground in Ukraine via video link to learn more about the current situation and find out how aid is helping the country. The DEC estimates that 11 million people have fled their homes since the conflict in Ukraine began, with 18 million projected to be affected as the crisis continues. Both royals looked as smart as ever for the engagement, in matching blazers and trousers, with the duchess opting to recycle a familiar high street favourite, the neutral Reiss blazer she first wore back in September for a visit to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire.
