The Chase star Mark Labbett defends new chaser who replaced Anne Hegerty
"I was settling down for bed at 1am and I had a call from a UK number and my Australian boss rang me and said I needed to take the call," he said.
"She said can you get on a plane that morning, seven or eight hours later, and I spent the night packing. I got on the plane, three flights to get out of Australia, and just about 24 hours and the day I landed we went straight to studio. There was no time for sleep."She announced at the time:"Unfortunately I’ve contracted Covid-19 so won’t be filming this series of #BeatTheChasers.
Issa, who has been on the Australian show since its pilot in 2015, previously said:"I've always dreamed to come on the UK version in some regard when the Aussie one started because as a dual citizen, it's a great opportunity. "So with that in the back of my mind, I was sort of like, 'Yes! At last!', but the circumstances were unfortunate obviously."Sign up for Disney+
