Whether eating up the small screen alongside William H. Macy in the critically acclaimed, or dabbling in a musical career during her spare moments, 26-year-old Emmy Rossum’s work ethic is tough to match.successor hopeful.
ROSSUM: I am. This is a script that I’ve really loved for a long time, and I kept hounding my agent to tell me when they were going to start auditioning people. When I finally got the call, I was excited—I was really excited about the character [Ridley Duchannes]. She’s kind of a scene-stealer in the book, and very self-indulgent. She’s a dark witch, or, and—very glamourous, very seducing, very self-centered. So, obnoxious and fun to play.
TAYLOR: You once said that being a New Yorker gave you lots of ideas growing up. Do you remember what you wanted to be when you were a kid?] I mean, I’m an actor, so now I get to do them all.ROSSUM: I do enjoy singing. I sing everywhere. I sing in the kitchen, I sing in the shower, I sing on the subway.ROSSUM: Yeah, I used to do that as a kid. I would walk home, past this butcher shop, I would sing them a song and they would give me a hot dog.ROSSUM: That is a true story.
