With a full year inside the new Generation Seven NASCAR Cup Car and way more spare parts, this year’s Clash was like a traditional short track race.
NASCAR Cup Car. With more development time, more spare parts, and the fact that these cars didn't have to go straight to Daytona afterward, the racing was far more like the traditional short track racing the LA Coliseums size would warrant. There was also as much excitement off the track as there was on it, which is why the temporary LA track is becoming a fan favorite.
Unfortunately, the short time of installing and using the system led to one car, the number 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry of Ty Gibbs, to catch fire during Saturday's practice session. While this would have spelled doom for the team with the previous generation Cup Car,
