A Texas republican introduced a bill that would allow Texans to vote on whether or not they should consider succeeding.

H.B. 3596 would allow Texans to vote on “whether or not the State should investigate the possibility of Texas independence, and present potential plans to the Legislature.

In a statement released on Twitter, Slaton wrote that “after decades of continuous abuse of our rights and liberties by the federal government, it is time to let the people of Texas make their voices heard.”If passed, it will place a referendum on the ballot during the next general election, allowing the people of Texas to vote on whether or not the State
