Angela Paxton, according to many media reports, including one by theThe Texas Tribune, citing a federal court affidavit, reported that a process server named Ernesto Martin Herrera attempted to serve Paxton a subpoena at his home for a court hearing over a lawsuit from nonprofits that wish to help Texas women pay for abortions obtained out of state.
Herrera, in a court document, said that after being stalled by Angela Paxton for nearly an hour, she started a Chevrolet Tahoe in driveway and Ken Paxton exited the house a short time later. Paxton defended his actions in a statement posted on Twitter, saying he was concerned about safety and referring to the incident as a “made-up controversy.”
