Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins did not practice Thursday, leaving their status in doubt...

Texans receivers Nico Collins, left, and Brandin Cooks did not practice for the second consecutive day Thursday. The Texans could be missing some key players when they face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.

The Texans’ No. 1 and No. 2 leading wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins did not practice Thursday for the second consecutive day as both continue to deal with injuries. Cooks has a calf injury, which caused him to miss last week’s game against the Browns. Collins is dealing with a foot injury. He played against the Browns, but popped up on the injury report earlier this week.

Collins did work off to the side on his own, but was not in pads. Texans coach Lovie Smith said Collins was limited Wednesday. The two receivers have not been officially ruled out. But the less they practice, the more likely it is they won’t play. Cooks and Collins’ injuries, and potential lack of availability Sunday, coincides with the return of quarterback Davis Mills, whom coach Lovie Smith announced would start against the Cowboys just two weeks after he was benched.

Cooks leads the Texans with 44 catches for 520 yards in 10 games. He also has one receiving touchdown. Collins is second on the team with 37 catches for 481 yards and two touchdowns.
