“We didn’t win the football game,” Smith said. “We’re not patting ourselves on the back. But we’re looking for positives as we go forward. We’re not there yet. That is obvious to everyone. But we have to talk about what happened during the game, not based on who they played or any of that, just basing it on how the game ended up. Simple as that.”
Their offense has scored more first-half points in that span for opponents than for themselves. Their 30-0 deficit to the Dolphins was Houston’s largest of the season, and the team’s benching of starting quarterback Davis Mills in favor of backup Kyle Allen yielded just 32 first-half yards against the Dolphins.
