A little later in the episode, we watched as Kate facilitated a meet-cute with one of the Australian men in charge of the British campsite. After getting her best flirt on, she pulled him in for a kiss only to swipe some office keys from his pocket.
If you look closely at the shot of Michael's file, his full name is listed as Michael James. However in the bottom left hand corner, under"next of kin", you can just about make out the words"birth mother" with"Kate Thorne" listed underneath.
