After a clinical performance on Wednesday which saw the team beat historic rivals Australia 3-1, England are through to their first World Cup final since 1966. It means most of the country will likely come to a standstill on Sunday for the game against Spain.

Following Wednesday's victory, attention has now turned to whether people should be given an extra bank holiday to allow for celebrations should the Lionesses make history and win the final. But those hopes seem to have been dashed by the government. A spokesperson has said: "The current pattern of public and bank holidays is well established and there are no plans to change this."

However, a lot of noise is being made by people who think a bank holiday should be added to the calendar if the Lionesses win the final.
