A witness reported an altercation at around noon, but the exact nature of the incident remain unclear.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "Just after 11.30am today Greater Manchester Police were called to reports of a serious assault on Southlea Road, Manchester."No arrests have been made at this time." They added: "A scene is currently still in place on Southlea Road, Manchester with no disruptions to the wider area.
