'A Christmas Story Christmas' is scheduled to premiere on Nov. 17 on HBO Max.
The teaser doesn’t offer many clues as to how the new film will look, actually focusing on some classic moments from the 1983 original and ending with a closeup shot of an adult Ralphie putting on his familiar glasses. HBO Max says a full trailer will be released soon.
But the teaser starts by showing a vehicle driving by the Parker house on a snow-covered West 11th Street in Cleveland’s Tremont neighborhood, an interesting development considering that earlier reports said none of the sequel was filmed in Cleveland. It’s the fact that so much of the original was filmed in the city that makes it especially loved in Northeast Ohio.
Several actors from the 1983 movie will be in the sequel, including Scott Schwartz and R.D. Robb as Ralphie’s childhood pals Flick and Schwartz, and Ian Petrella as his younger brother Randy. Nick Schenk, who wrote “Gran Torino” and “The Mule,” wrote the sequel, and Clay Kaytis is the director. If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
