Friends of the designer were invited to celebrate the launch amid a picnic-inspired spread of charcuterie and wine.’s Samantha Barry, stylist Ashley Avignone, Saks Fifth Avenue’s Cleo Davis, andpolitical strategist Huma Abedin, were just a few of the fashionable guests who braved yesterday’s torrential downpour for the launch.
“I feel like this is something our girl wants to do on a Saturday,” said Taylor of the decision to take the brand’s accessory launch in an outdoorsy direction. “A lot of the girls who wear our dresses were saying they love hanging out in parks on the weekend, so we needed to give them a summer accessory.”
The willow baskets come packed with wine glasses, bamboo cutlery, place mats, and even a silk scarf with a print from the brand’s Spring/Summer collection—making it the perfect accessory for the woman about town . Ali DeFrancesch, a developer of the brand’s beloved prints, hand-painted special bottles of Wölffer Estate rosé as party favors.
“I felt like it would be nice to bring the launch to the city tonight because people need them here more than anywhere else,” Taylor told. “We brought some friends of the brand here because it’s nice to see everybody during the summer. You see them during fashion week, but it’s nice to have an opportunity to have a little bit of fun.”
By the time the evening of mixing and mingling drew to a close, the sun had emerged to match the cheerful disposition of the guests dispersing from the party.
