Tame Impala's fourth album officially has a release date!
and Co. confirm the album's release date and drop a third track from it, “It Might Be Time.”
Just last week, the Aussie psychedelic rock outfit teased their fourth studio LP, then set the record straight with its title and coverart, alongside an ambiguous 2020 release plan.will arrive Feb. 14, 2020, almost five years after the release ofRecorded between Los Angeles and Parker’s studio in his hometown of Fremantle, Western Australia,will stretch across 12 tracks, including the previously released “Borderline,” “Patience”, and the new cut “It Might Be Time.
Many of its songs “carry this idea of time passing, of seeing your life flash before your eyes, being able to see clearly your life from this point onwards. I’m being swept by this notion of time passing,” Parker told theThere’s certainly something intoxicating about the new release, a refreshing dose of vintage prog powered by punchy old-school electronic keys which remind of“The Logical Song.” We get a taste of a different unreality when Parker’s spaced-out vocals enter the picture.
On it, Parker is looking back, and forward. “It might be time to face it/ It ain't as fun as it used to be, no/ You're goin' under/ You ain't as young as you used to be/ It might be time to face it/ You ain't as cool as you used to be, no/ You won't recover You ain't as young as you used to be,” he sings.
Over the past six months Tame Impala have headlined several major festivals including Coachella, Primavera, Lollapalooza, ACL and Splendour in the Grass, and a run of arena shows.
