Writer-director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi’s 'Drive My Car,' adapted from a Haruki Murakami short story, is among the year's most celebrated films.
won the Silver Lion at this year’s Venice International Film Festival and is Italy’s selection for the international feature Oscar. A coming-of-age story based on Sorrentino’s childhood, the film is set in 1980s Naples and follows a young man named Fabietto as he grapples with family, identity, tragedy and his intense fandom of soccer star Diego Maradona. The film is in limited release and begins streaming on Netflix on Dec. 15.

Especially for young people, because in many cases, young people can have the idea that their day-to-day life is so hard that there is no future. They only see darkness, but the future is there.
