Taggart is one of the world’s longest running crime dramas and the Glasgow-based series had to of course celebrate its success with a reunion right here in the city which took place last night on Tuesday, September 19.
Alex Norton joined the former fictional detectives via Zoom, with the ex-head of ITV drama Robert Love joining the team on stage for a lively panel discussion hosted by STV presenter Laura Boyd.
Made by STV Studios, the show was on air for 27 years, including 27 series in total and 110 episodes. Brilliant characters, clever whodunnits, grisly murders, witty dialogue and an incredible city as the setting for all the action, Taggart is still loved by fans right across the world, selling to 140 territories and counting.
Taggart’s pilot, Killer was first screened on STV on September 6, 1983. Locations featured in Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart’s first outing include a riverbank, off Kelvindale Road, a canal bank off Maryhill Road, the Botanic Gardens, Partick Cross, and Sighthill Cemetery.
