T-Mobile US backlash reveals M&A regulatory risk jennifersaba GinaChon

Ten U.S. attorneys general, led by those from the states of New York and California, filed a lawsuit on June 11 to block T-Mobile US’s $26 billion purchase of Sprint.

Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Virginia and Wisconsin are part of the multi-state lawsuit.Federal Communications Commission Chairman Ajit Pai recommended allowing the merger to go ahead with certain conditions, including the sale of Sprint’s pre-paid business Boost Mobile. The deal also requires the approval of the Department of Justice.
