NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that Locust “impressed coach Mike Vrabel as well as new GM Ran Carthon in the interview process.” Locust was one of several assistants let go by Tampa Bay, including offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich, after its disappointing campaign this past season. She was born in Philadelphia but grew up in Harrisburg and attended Susquehanna Township. She later worked as an assistant coach at Susquehanna Township, and with several semi-pro and minor league football leagues before getting a chance as a defensive line coaching intern with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018.
