An investigation is underway following a deadly officer-involved shooting in Baytown on Wednesday night.
Steve Dorris, Patrol Watch Commander with the Baytown Police Department, said it all started when officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 2000 block of Tri-City Beach Road, around 6:30 p.m.
Dorris said as officers were responding to the scene, they received a second 911 call at the Bayland Marina. Police said in the first shooting that took place on Tri City Beach Road, the suspect was involved in some type of dispute with someone on the side of the road. Authorities said a man was shot and pronounced dead on the scene. A woman was also shot as well. Authorities provide the latest following a deadly officer-involved shooting in Baytown on Wednesday night.
After the shooting occurred, Dorris said a female passerby saw the suspect's vehicle on the side of the road and slows down to look and see what's happening. That's when the suspect shoots at that female driver, who was shot at least once. She was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Following that shooting, the suspect fled the shooting, went down Tri City Beach Road, to Bayland Marina, engages with another person, and shoots another man. That man was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. Dorris said following the second shooting, they saw the suspect come back toward them on Tri City Beach Road, they engaged the suspect, fired their weapons, and shot the suspect at least one time. The suspect was later pronounced dead.
