About 147.8 million people, up from 134.3 million last year, plan to take advantage of Super Saturday sales and extended store hours, according to the“While many people started holiday shopping early, those who waited until Thanksgiving weekend are feeling the pressure due to the limited number of days this year between Thanksgiving and Christmas,” Matthew Shay, the retail group's president and CEO, said in a statement, noting an"impressive turnout by procrastinators" is expected.
