A yellow weather warning comes into force at 12pm tomorrow
The weather is set to be mostly dry with some sunny spells today - before Storm Agnes batters Greater Manchester with heavy rain and strong winds tomorrow.
But from around 11am tomorrow the picture looks very different, as Storm Agnes is set to bring rainy and windy conditions to Greater Manchester and much of the UK. A yellow weather warning for wind - which covers our region - comes into force at 12pm and will last until 7am on Thursday.READ MORE: Country walks near Greater Manchester ending with a beer garden
Travel disruption on roads, rail, air and ferry is also expected due to the strong winds. In Greater Manchester, rain is forecast to fall from around 11am with showers turning heavy into the afternoon. Storm Agnes is set to move into western areas of the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. The Irish Sea coasts will see the strongest winds, according to forecasters, but it will be a 'widely windy day' across the whole of the UK.
