Sue Gray finalising report on Downing Street events during lockdown
It follows controversy over who initiated a meeting between Ms Gray and the prime minister that took place several weeks ago, but which only came to light over the weekend.
It prompted opposition parties to call on Mr Johnson to explain the encounter, arguing it could undermine public confidence in the report. The spokesman added that the meeting was "minuted in the usual way", but the notes would not be released as it was a private meeting.
