The woman was a substitute at a public school in Burlington County, officials said.
Kameelah Kareem, 43, of Willingboro, worked as a substitute teacher at Alternative School at Bookbinder in Willingboro between November 2019 and March 2020, according to a release from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
In early 2021, authorities say they learned of the inappropriate conduct between Kareem and a 15-year-old male student during the 2019-20 school year, the office said. Detectives discovered that Kareem sexually abused the student on multiple occasions outside of school, investigators said. Kareem was arrested in February 2021 and charged with with second degree sexual assault and second degree endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said.
