A student was stabbed Wednesday morning at Oakland’s Skyline High School, and a suspect was being sought.
OAKLAND — A male student was stabbed Wednesday morning in a parking lot at Skyline High School, authorities said.Authorities said the stabbing happened about 11:32 a.m. Wednesday in a parking lot at the school, which is at 12250 Skyline Blvd.
Police said initial reports were that the student was stabbed in the abdomen following a physical altercation with another person. It was not immediately known if the other person is a student at the school.No other details were immediately available, including whether the school was placed on lockdown.
It was the Oakland Unified School District’s second stabbing in less than a month, after an incident shortly after 2 p.m. November 15 where a 17-year-old student stabbed a 16-year-old classmate at least three times in a hallway at West Oakland’s McClymonds High School. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
