An Eyewitness News viewer captured hail falling near Venice Beach yesterday, and we could be seeing similar weather throughout the weekend. 🥶❄️

The full brunt of the storm is hitting on Friday, with blizzard conditions expected in the mountains and flash flooding possible in lower-elevation communities.The National Weather Service has issued afor the mountains of Los Angeles and Ventura counties, warning of up to 5 feet of snow and blinding conditions that will make driving inadvisable. It's the first such warning for the area in more than three decades.

High winds will make it feel even colder. Forecasters said strong winds will impact the entire region throughout Friday, strongest in the mountains and deserts. Gusts of 55 to 75 mph are anticipated in those areas. The storm system is also expected to bring low-elevation snow to unusual places such as Santa Clarita, La Verne, Temecula, Upland and Rancho Cucamonga. A flood watch will be in effect from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon for Los Angeles County beaches, the coastal region including downtown, the L.A. County mountains, Santa Monica Mountains and the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and San Gabriel valleys.

A flood watch will also be in effect in Orange County, covering inland areas and the Santa Ana Mountains and foothills.- Most of northern Los Angeles and Ventura counties will see rain as those downpours last through the afternoon. Right after lunch time, the system will be making its way past San Luis Obispo. The rain will continue to head south and it will become much more widespread by 5:30 p.m.- Rain and snow will continue.

Friday will bring several feet of snow with a high of 34 and the possibility of avalanches in some areas.will see a high of 47 on Friday, with gusty winds, cold rain and snow above 3,500 feet.
